High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy is an oxygen supply system capable of delivering up to 100% humidified and heated oxygen at a high flow rate per minute.
A typical HFNC system consists of a flow generator, active heated humidifier, single-limb heated circuit, and nasal cannula.
Humidified high flow nasal cannula therapy is a form of non-invasive respiratory support which has been compared to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP).
